Travel, Night Sky and Wildlife Photography from the far South. This website contains some of the images I have collected over the last three years whilst working in the Antarctic and sub Antarctic.
South Georgia is a sub Antarctic island located about 800 miles East of the Falklands. It sits beneath the polar convergence and as such has a polar climate. South Georgia has an abundance of wildlife, in the summer its beaches team with penguins and seals. Whilst working for the British Antarctic Survey I spent 15 months on the island.
The Antarctic Peninsula is the northernmost part of the mainland of Antarctica. Tierra del Feugo, the Southern tip of South America lies about 600 miles away across the Drake Passage. Whilst working for Quark I have visited a number of locations on the Antarctic peninsular.
Traveling to and from Antarctica means visiting South America. These galleries contain images of Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Quito and the Galapagos Islands.
